GRAF
An old building with white walls, right in front of the National Museum of Art, Osaka, with the Tosabori River in its back. At first glance, the building looks like it could be found anywhere, but in the corner of the wall are the four letters "graf". The Museum of Oriental Ceramics, Osaka
The gentle curves of flying celadon porcelain were made in the Yuan period of the 13th and 14th centuries. The beauty of the large white porcelain vase conveys the essence of the 17th century Joseon Dynasty. The Museum of Oriental Ceramics is an art museum established by Osaka City in 1982, with the Ataka Collection, which has 965 pieces of approximately 1,000 pieces of outstanding Oriental ceramics, donated by 21 Sumitomo Group companies. Since then, many Korean ceramics have been donated by Mr. Lee Byung-chang, and the museum currently boasts about 2,000 pieces in its collection, including national treasures. As you tour the quiet exhibition rooms, you can hear the thoughts of our ancestors who transcend time and space from behind the glass cases. Gallery guides are also scheduled to be held from 11am to 2pm on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays (1-2 hours, please inquire).
