Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka
We aim to be a platform with communication and creativity, centered around a collection themed on modern and contemporary art and design from Osaka and around the world.
The Osaka Nakanoshima Museum of Art opened on February 2, 2022 in Nakanoshima, Osaka.
The collection is diverse, including Western paintings, Japanese paintings, modern foreign paintings, contemporary art, prints, photography, sculptures, and design. In particular, masterpieces by Yuzo Saeki, nude statues by Modigliani, works by Yoshihara Jiro, leader of the Gutai Art Association, and masterpieces by foreign artists are highly regarded both in Japan and overseas.
The architectural concept is based on the French word "passage," which refers to a pedestrian-only arcade or narrow path that anyone can freely move through. The museum aims to be an open hub for art activities where people with or without an interest in art can easily pass through and experience art at their leisure.
In addition to displaying a diverse collection, the museum is also actively involved in hosting exhibitions across a wide range of fields, and looks forward to welcoming you to this new art platform.
