A trip to enjoy Fukui A trip to enjoy Fukui

What is Fukui Prefecture?

A place boasting beautiful sceneries of lush natural environments and exquisite seafood, as well as the rich history and cultures of Japan

Fukui Prefecture is a bountiful land surrounded by the sea and mountains with many tourist spots where you can feel its history and culture, places such as the Dinosaur Museum, Tojinbo Cliffs, and Eiheiji Temple. It’s an area also known to be associated with warlords in the age of provincial wars (1467-1615). The Ichijodani Asakura Family Site is a castle ruin of the Asakura family that conveys local life back then. Tojinbo Cliffs, designated as a national natural treasure, offer dynamic sceneries of the Japan Sea and its rough waves. In Fukui, you can savor gastronomy only available here, including Echizen Crabs, famously known as winter delicacy with its distinctive rich flavors, Echizen Soba, and Sauce Katsudon bowls of pork cutlets with sauce.
