Tachibana Street (Orange Street)
A street that represents Osaka's "fashionable" style, lined with cafes, boutiques, miscellaneous goods, interior shops, and other stylish stores.
Tachibana Dori, a street that represents Osaka's fashionable style, is a 3-minute walk west along one street south of Amerikamura Sankaku Park. Fashionable stores such as cafes, boutiques, miscellaneous goods, imported furniture, and interior shops line both sides of the 800m long street, which is crowded with young people on Saturdays and Sundays. Originally called "Tachibana Street", it existed as a furniture store street in Minamihorie since the end of the Edo period. In the Meiji period, there were many antique shops, and especially during the period of high economic growth after the war, it was known as a "furniture town". It became known throughout the country. Today, it is nicknamed ``Orange Street'' (tangerines), and while traditional Japanese furniture shops that have been open since before the war still remain, it is attracting attention as a new cultural destination. Minatomachi River Place and OCAT are adjacent to the south.
