Mount Ikoma (642m above sea level), located north of Kongo-Ikoma-Kisen Quasi-National Park, has been engraved in history as an important mountain for transportation and strategy on the border between Yamato and Naniwa. Currently, it is popular for its panoramic view of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and Kansai International Airport. In addition to the Osaka Prefectural Forest that spreads out on the middle slope, you can enjoy the Ikomayama Amusement Park at the top of the mountain, the Hanna Expressway that connects Osaka and Nara, and the Shigiikoma Skyline, a 20.9km toll road that runs from the top of Mount Ikoma to Mount Shigisan. The night view in particular is like a jewel box. In spring, a row of cherry blossoms creates a beautiful tunnel. You can also observe a variety of plants, birds, and insects on the hiking trails.
