Morofuku Tenmangu Shrine
Morofuku Tenmangu Shrine was built in this area in 1644 (Kanei 20), and the deity is Michizane Sugawara.
It was founded in this area in 1644 (Kanei 20), and Sugawara no Michizane is the enshrined deity. During the Heisei era restoration, when we turned over the board that had written Sugawara Shrine on the shrine plaque, the words Tenmangu appeared. Since the box containing the hanging scroll of Michizane Sugawara created in 1752 also has the inscription "Tenmangu" on the front, it is thought that it would be better to use the restoration as an opportunity to call it the original Tenmangu. Based on the opinions of parishioners, the name was changed to Morofuku Tenmangu on January 1, 1999. The carvings that can be seen on the columns, gables, and wooden noses of the main hall, which is designated as a cultural property by Daito City, remain in the Momoyama architectural style of the early Edo period (cypress bark roofing, 1-ken shrine style structure). Restoration in the Heisei era brought back the original bright colors. The most lively festival of the year is the Autumn Festival in October. It is a village-wide festival, with stalls lined up and danjiri floats of all sizes being pulled. There is also a tooth deity enshrined within the shrine grounds, which is said to be effective against toothaches.
