Uwajima Castle
A three-story, three-tiered tower-shaped keep. The existing keep (an important cultural property) was rebuilt by Munetoshi of the Date family following its creation by Todo Takatora in 1601. Since Hidemune, the eldest son of Date Masamune, entered the castle in 1615, it served as a residence for nine generations of the Date family.
