Yodogawa Shrine
The summer festival held in July is said to be a summer tradition in Miyakojima Ward.
The year of construction is unknown. There are 15 deities enshrined here, including Amaterasu Zako Omikami and Hachiman Omikami, which are famous gods from all over the country. Among the parishioners is Yosa Buson, who is famous for his haiku. I was familiar with shrine festivals from an early age and looked forward to them more than anything else. It seems that in this environment, his sensibilities were sharpened. The summer festival held in July is said to be a summer tradition in Miyakojima Ward. There are flute blowers, gongs, and drums, as well as a fun parade of children, pillow drums, and a parade of danjiri floats.
