Mount Atago is a 10-minute walk from Tanoura Station on the Nankai Main Line. The hills of Mount Atago, which overlook Osaka Bay, Kansai International Airport, and even the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge in the distance, are known as a famous spot for spring flowers. In early April, 800 cherry trees bloom, and from late April to May, an estimated 30,000 to 50,000 azaleas cover the entire mountainside. Looking down on a clear day, the red flowers, blue sea, white clouds, and fresh greenery are beautiful, making this a popular spot that many people visit. Nearby, there is the Prefectural Youth Marine Center, where you can try out marine sports, a yacht harbor, and Marine Lodge Kaifukan, where you can dine, bathe, and stay overnight, as well as Tanoura Beach.
