Tamatsukuri Inari Shrine
It is said to have been founded in the 18th year of Emperor Suinin (12 BC). In ancient times, the area around the area was called Tamatsukuri Oka, and the Tamatsukura community, which made magatama beads, lived there, and this is where the current name of Tamatsukuri came from. During the Toyotomi Tokugawa era, it was known as the guardian deity of Osaka Castle, and it is said that Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Hideyori, Yodo-dono, and others held tea parties here in front of Sen no Rikyu's tea ceremony. Toyokuni Shrine was completely destroyed by fire during the war in 1576, the subsequent fall of Osaka Castle, and the great air raids of World War II, and the current shrine building was rebuilt after the war. In addition to the torii gate dedicated to Hideyori and the monument honoring Sen no Rikyu, the grounds also house the Namba Tamazukuri Museum, which exhibits valuable materials such as ancient jade relics, the history of beads, the process of making them, and ancient pottery.
