Takidani Fudo Myoji Temple
This training hall was established in the 12th year of the Kōnin era (821 AD) during the Heian period by Kobo Daishi to pray for the safety of the nation and the happiness of its people.
The principal image, Acala, and his attendant deities Kongara-doji and Seitaka-doji are revered as sacred images representing the Kobo Daishi's one-stroke, three-respect technique, and all of them have been designated as Important Cultural Properties of Japan.
As a place of prayer since ancient times, goma prayers are held every day in the main hall. Widely known as "Takiya no O-Fudo-san," many people come to pray for business success, good fortune, protection from evil, and more. The temple is also famous for the ancient belief in "loach nagashi."
