Takatsuki City Natural Museum Akuapia Akutagawa
Everyone's museum where you can learn about Takatsuki's nature
This natural history museum presents a variety of waterside scenes, including a huge waterfall, a small stream, and an aquatic stage. It introduces the waterside of the Akutagawa River that flows through the center of Takatsuki City through a large aquarium displaying the ecology of freshwater fish and a diorama display featuring models of birds and plants. There is also a wide selection of stuffed and specimens of birds, mammals, and insects from Takatsuki City, allowing visitors to learn about the nature and history of Takatsuki.
Aquapia investigates, studies, and records the nature around us, and stores the materials to pass them on to the future, working with everyone involved in the museum ("everyone"). By sharing the results of our activities with as many "everyone" as possible, we hope to help people realize that nature is closely related to our lives. We hope that by recognizing and correctly understanding the nature around us, and by connecting people with each other through nature, we will come to love our communities, and that our daily lives will be enriched. The "museum" that Aquapia aims to be is a place that helps make this a reality.
*When Aquapia thinks of "everyone," it refers to museum staff, visitors, volunteers, people who provide information about nature, and people who come to ask questions.
