Shounji Temple
The temple has a beautiful Karesansui garden with white sand arranged like flowing water, and it's especially spectacular during the cherry blossom season in spring, where you can spend time in peace and tranquility.
During the Kan'ei era (1624-1643), the wealthy merchant Tani Shoan was founded by Takuan Soho. The name of the mountain was Ryukokuzan Shounji, and it was commonly known as Matsu no Temple, but it was reduced to ashes by several air raids, and was replaced by Kazuko Sato, who joined the mountain in 1945. . The museum is home to a portrait of Takuan at the age of 67 (an important national cultural property) painted at the request of Masayasu Tani, and a statue of Shaka with two voices (an important national cultural property). I have deposited it in In addition, within the precincts, the Karesansui garden, which is one of the scenic spots designated by Osaka Prefecture, is set against a stone wall near an earthen wall, and features the style of the Edo period. Also, during the Spring Sumo Tournament, people stay at the Shounji Kaikan, which is the residence of the Dewaumi Stable, making it a lively temple.
