Johoku Park (Shirokita Park)
This is an ancient park built on the Yodogawa riverbed where you can enjoy seasonal flowers such as cherry blossoms in spring, irises in early summer, and chrysanthemums in autumn.
A long-established park that opened in 1934 using the riverbed of the Yodo River. The 9.5 hectare park is famous for its cherry blossoms in April and the ``Johoku Chrysanthemum Exhibition'' held around November every year, both of which are popular Osaka sights. In particular, the ``Iris Garden'' is home to approximately 13,000 plants of approximately 250 types of irises of three lines: Edo, Ise, and Higo, where they bloom in a variety of colors, from May to June, when they bloom in blue-purple, white, and yellow. It has also been selected as one of the ``100 best green areas in Osaka.'' Furthermore, just below the Yodo River embankment, there is a bay area (a pond-like area along a river surrounded by canals), where rare plants and animals gather. It would be nice to take a walk while observing nature up close.
