Shinganji Temple

This temple was rebuilt in the Edo period to pray for the repose of the souls of Yukimura Sanada and his son Daisuke. There is a grave of Katsura Hayanosuke and Watanabe Yoshitaro of Kyoto Mimawarigumi.
Shinganji Temple was built in the late Azuchi-Momoyama period during the Bunroku era under Toyotomi Hideyoshi, but it was demolished after the Winter Siege, and in 1622, with the help of the Sanada clan's ancestor, the Unno clan, it was built in Osaka. It was rebuilt on the site of the winter camp site (Sanada Maru) as a memorial service for Sanada Yukimura and his son Daisuke. Near Shingan-ji Temple is the position where the famous general Sanada Yukimura (Sanadazaemonsa Toyotomi Nobushige) built a fort called Sanada Maru to the southeast of Osaka Castle on the Kamimachi Plateau, where Toyotomi's side was weak during the winter campaign. In addition, in 1867, the murder of Ryoma Sakamoto and Shintaro Nakaoka at the Omiya restaurant in Kawaramachi, Kyoto, involved several members of the Kyoto Mimawari group, including Hayanosuke Katsura, Yoshitaro Watanabe, and Yasujiro Takahashi, which brought it to even more attention. Ta. The Mimawarigumi also participated in the Battle of Toba-Fushimi and died in the battle, and were buried at Shingen-ji Temple, where their grave still exists.
