It is also called the Eight Shrines Daimyojin because it enshrines eight pillars, including Shinagatsuhiko no Mikoto and Shinagatsuhime no Mikoto. Behind the main shrine is a spring called Hachisui, and it is said that Toma's swordsmiths used this water to forge their swords. Among the shrine treasures is a small helmet that is said to have been worn by Empress Jingu. The annual summer festival is a festival of mikoshi and danjiri, one from each of the five town councils, and young people heroically pulling it around to the beat of lively music. Festivals such as these are held.
