Settsukyo Park
Great forest bathing spot near from the city. Enjoy the beauty of strangely shaped rocks, cliffs, the seasonal nature and flowers.
At North of Takatsuki city and extending from the upper reaches of Akutagawa river is a 42.65 hectare sized scenic park. This valley that is continuously lined with strangely-shaped rocks and cliffs such as the Meoto-iwa and Hachijou-iwa is called the “Settsu-Yabakei”, a place of scenic beauty included in the “100 Best Greenery Sceneries of Osaka.” Stretching about 4 km from the top to the bottom is a fantastic hiking trail. The cherry blossom plaza has about 230 Someiyoshino Sakura trees and playground equipment such as swings and slides, as well as outdoor theaters and campsites for many to visit throughout the four seasons. At the northernmost part of the park is the pure and clear Shirataki waterfall (a height of 15 meters) and at the bottom along the park trail to the waterfall there is a monument to the haiku poet Seishi Yamaguchi. Although it's not far from the center of the city, it still has a refreshing forest environment with the sounds of birds and clear flowing streams.
