Senfukan
It is a famous building made entirely of brick in the Veranda Colonial style. The "House of Money" named by Emperor Meiji is a nationally designated important cultural property.
Senfukan, which is adjacent to the Osaka Mint across the national highway, was built in 1871 as a reception area for the Mint House (now the Mint) when it was founded. It was designed by Wartles, a British engineer who made great achievements in Western-style architecture in Japan in the early Meiji period. The two-story building with beautiful white plastered walls is made entirely of brick and is built in the "Veranda Colonial" style with a veranda surrounding it. The rooms have high ceilings and elegant decorations such as fireplaces and chandeliers. ``Izumpu'' means money, and ``Kan'' means mansion, and Emperor Meiji himself named it. Nationally designated important cultural property.
