Satsukiyama Park
A famous spot for cherry blossoms, azaleas, and autumn leaves. There are eight hiking trails and four observation decks, and it has been chosen as one of the "100 Best Green Spots in Osaka" as a great place to view the Osaka Plain.
Spreading from the foot to the middle of Mount Satsuki (315.3m above sea level), the symbol of Ikeda City, this is a famous spot for cherry blossoms, azaleas, and autumn leaves. There are eight hiking trails and four observation decks, and it has been selected as one of the "100 Best Green Spots in Osaka" as a great place to view the Osaka Plain. The park also has many facilities such as a zoo, an urban greening botanical garden, and a green center, and is bustling with people enjoying leisure activities. Satsukiyama Zoo in particular is popular because, despite the free admission fee, visitors can interact with rare Australian animals such as wombats and wallabies. In summer, it is one of the venues for the "Gangara Fire Festival," which has been held since the Edo period.
