Sairinji Temple
This is a temple located in the old townscape.
Sairin-ji Temple was founded by Dr. Wani, a scholar from Kudara who came to Japan in the late Ojin Dynasty, when he became naturalized and his descendants, the Bun clan of Kawachi, worked to develop culture. It is said to have its origins when Emperor Kinmei used part of his home as a temple. The huge stone in the precincts is the core foundation of a five-storied pagoda, which is a rare form even in Buddhist archeology, and the pagoda foundation, weighing approximately 7,500 kan (28 tons), is one of the largest in the Asuka Dynasty style.
