Around Tsuruhashi Station on the JR Loop Line, Kintetsu Line, and Osaka Metro Sennichimae Line, there are yakiniku restaurants, Korean food stores, ethnic costumes, and boutiques, making it a bustling "international market" that attracts many people from all over the country. If you go further into the narrow, maze-like streets, you will find a wide variety of specialty stores, including dried goods, daily necessities, and fruits, as well as a wholesale market for fresh fish, where chefs from Osaka city and Kyoto come to buy supplies from early in the morning. The origin of the market was a black market that opened in this burnt-out area just after the war, and all kinds of goods were gathered here. Most of the people who have been doing business there since then, and the market's exterior conveys the retro atmosphere of that time to this day.
