Osaka Prefectural Chikatsu Asuka Fudoki Hill

A historic park that maintains and preserves the Ichisuka tumulus group. There are 102 round tombs built around the latter half of the 6th century, of which you can tour the stone chambers of 40 of them.

Asuka in Nara is called ``Distant Asuka,'' and the area at the foot of Mt. Nijo on the west side of Taishi Town, Habikino City, Osaka is called ``City Asuka.'' In ancient times, the Chikatsu Asuka area was an area where a sophisticated culture brought over by immigrants flourished, and there are clusters of tombs from the 6th century onwards in the surrounding area. One of these, the Ichisuka Tumulus Group, is maintained and preserved as a historical park at the Osaka Prefectural Chikatsu Asuka Fudoki Hill. Within the approximately 29ha park, there are 102 round tombs (some square) with a diameter of around 15m, 40 of which have horizontal stone chambers, and you can even go inside the stone chambers and take a look. A large number of artifacts excavated from these ancient tombs are exhibited and introduced at the nearby Chikatsu Asuka Museum. From the museum, you can see the entire Asuka Fudoki Hill.
