Okuyama Ameyama Nature Park
The park is full of natural trees such as red pine and cypress, making it perfect for forest bathing. The spring cherry blossoms are also beautiful and are one of the ``100 Best Greens in Osaka.''
Take the Nankai Bus from Kumatori Station in the southern part of Osaka Prefecture and get off at Osaka University of Physical Education, then walk for about 30 minutes. A vast park located upstream of Eiraku Dam, the water source for Kumatori Town, Sennan District. Completed in July 1984, the 130ha park is filled with natural forests such as red pine and cypress, making it a perfect spot for forest bathing. There is an affordable hiking course of about 2km around Eiraku Dam, and in spring, about 1,000 Yoshino cherry trees bloom beautifully. Eiraku Dam and the cherry blossom path in Okuyama Ameyama Natural Park have been selected as one of the ``100 best green areas in Osaka,'' and are a place of relaxation for many citizens. On a clear day, we also recommend the observation deck where you can see the Izumi Katsuragi Mountain Range and Kansai International Airport. It is often used as an outdoor classroom for elementary schools, and you can hear the energetic voices of children echoing through it.
