Naritasan Fudoson Temple

Naritasan Fudoson is known as a temple for worship of the deity Fudo Myo-o, or Acala in Sanskrit. The temple is particularly renowned for prayers for traffic safety. More than 2 million people visit each year, and more than 200,000 vehicles receive blessings.

Naritasan Fudoson is known as a temple for worship of the deity Fudo Myo-o, or Acala in Sanskrit. It was constructed in 1934, using a location with a grand view of Korien as a holy site. Since then, it has watched over the commercial metropolis of Osaka and the Buddhist capitol of Kyoto as a temple that grants wishes and good fortune while repelling misfortune. In the present day, it receives more than 2 million visitors each year.It is also known as the first temple in Japan to offer blessings of traffic safety for drivers and vehicles alike. The temple has a structure for traffic safety blessings of vehicles separate from its main hall, with the capacity to hold 100 vehicles at once. 200,000 vehicles visit this facility every year.
