Kusukoan Kannonji Temple
This is the place where Masashige Kusunoki's wife, Hisako, mourned the death of a member of her family. In autumn, the beautiful autumn leaves that cover the temple captivate the hearts of visitors.
This is where Hisako, the wife of Masashige Kusunoki and the mother of Masatsura, became a monk after the death of her husband and son in the war and prayed for her bodhi. Hisako is said to have called herself ``Kekyo-ni'' and built Nanpian. There is also a Kannon-den building built by Masayuki on this land, and his younger brother Masagi renamed it Kannon-ji after the death of Nekyo-ni and made it his family's family temple. Later, both Kannon-ji and Kusuko-an were destroyed by military fire, but Kusuko-an was rebuilt in 1917, followed by Kannon-ji. This area is also the hometown of Segyo-ni, and the stone five-ring pagoda in the precincts is said to be her tomb. You can enjoy the beauty of each season, such as the fresh greenery of spring and the rain of cicadas in summer, but it is especially famous for its changing leaves in autumn. Many history buffs and people who pay their respects to Kusunoki come here.
