Mitsu Shrine (commonly known as Mitsu Hachiman Shrine)
A shrine with over 1000 years of history located in the busy Minami district of Osaka.
According to the shrine's history, in the first year of the Tenpyo Shoho era (749) under the reign of Empress Koken, when Temmokuyama Hachimangu Shrine in Nara was invited from Usa Jingu Shrine (Oita Prefecture) to be the guardian deity of Todaiji Temple, a portable shrine from Usa landed on this site and was temporarily placed there, and later renamed Mitsu Hachimangu Shrine, making this a shrine with a very long history. The deities worshipped here are Emperor Ojin, Emperor Chuai, and Hime no Okami (Empress Jingu). The shrine is bustling with many worshippers during seasonal events such as New Year's, Setsubun, cherry blossoms, summer festivals, and autumn festivals. Please see the website for more details.

- From Exit 7 of Shinsaibashi Station on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line or Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line, walk south (towards Namba) on Midosuji for about 250m, turn right (west) at the intersection of Midosuji-Hachimancho, and walk about 70m.
There is no parking lot. If you come by car, please use the paid parking lots nearby.
