Makino Kurumazuka Tumulus

A tumulus where you can slowly walk up the hill on your own.

A keyhole-shaped tumulus with a total length of 107.5m, a diameter of 44m at the front and a diameter of 54.5m at the rear. The burial mound is built in two stages, and is surrounded by an empty moat. Based on the shape of the mound, it is estimated that it was built in the first half of the 5th century, and is designated as a national historic site. It is maintained as a park, so why not take a leisurely look around?

Get off at Makino Station on the Keihan Main Line, take the Keihan bus bound for Kitakatahoko (12) or Kokuracho (13), get off at the Katahoko/Chuo Library bus stop, and walk for 1 minute.
