Kobayashi Museum of Art
An art museum located next to the lush and green Hamadera Park.
At the exhibition rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor, visitors can get an up close view of mainly Japanese paintings.
The collection includes about 400 works of art, starting with Japanese paintings by recipients of the Order of Culture, famous Japanese painters of modern and contemporary art, in addition to Western-style paintings and prints by Ryohei Koiso, Tsuguharu Fujita, etc. The exhibits also come with commentary by the curators in order to make the experience more casual and easy to understand. Enjoy carefully prepared coffee and original seasonal menu items while viewing the garden from the windows at the “Painting Cafe: Hagoromo Coffee.” Make sure not to also miss the “Hagoromo Gallery” in the annex where you can purchase paintings.
