Kishiwada Danjiri Hall

Experience the Danjiri Festival all year round! A museum where you can learn everything about the Danjiri Festival.

The Kishiwada Danjiri Festival, known throughout Japan, began in the mid-Edo period and boasts a 300-year tradition. The Kishiwada Danjiri Kaikan is a facility where you can witness the long history and power of this festival. In March 2024, the latest video technology was used to learn about the Danjiri Festival through hands-on experience. The museum was renovated to be an exhibition space that inherits and enjoys the traditions and culture of the Danjiri Festival, utilizing existing exhibits such as danjiri, musical instruments, decorations, and mini danjiri. With Kishiwada Castle in the background, there is a photo spot where you can take a commemorative photo in front of the danjiri that was actually pulled through the town from the end of the Edo period to the Heisei period, digitalized panels introducing each town in Kishiwada City, a corner where you can watch videos of the spear-turning techniques in each district, an immersive three-sided theater video, musical instruments, and a carpenter's experience. You can enjoy everything about the Danjiri Festival.
