Kanda Shrine
Located on the north side of Kaizuka Station on the Nankai Electric Railway, it is the guardian deity, or local deity, of the Kaizuka Jinaimachi area, formerly known as Kandakawara Daimyojin.
Around 1582, Enkai, the second resident priest of Sufukuji Temple, built a ceramic shrine to worship Kanda Kawara Daimyojin, the guardian deity of Kaizuka Jinaimachi. However, he changed the character for "kawara" to "kawara" and named it Kandengawara Daimyojin. After the lord of Kishiwada domain, impressed by the god's virtue, donated some land to the shrine, and the character for "kami" (god) was changed to "kan" (feeling), and the shrine was named Kandengawara Daimyojin.
In 1658, the shrine building was rebuilt, and in 1659, it was added to the 62 shrines in the Izumi-shiki. After the Meiji Restoration, due to the separation of Shinto and Buddhism, in 1872, it was designated a local shrine, and in 1907, Umisato Shrine was enshrined there.
