Mint (factory tour)
An institution that manufactures coins, medals, medals, metal crafts, etc. There is a mint museum on the premises, and a ``cherry blossom walk through'' is held every year in mid-April.
In building a modern nation, the new Meiji government believed that it was necessary to rebuild the chaotic monetary system at the end of the Edo period, and established the Mint in Osaka to produce coins that were comparable to those of developed countries. The Mint held its founding ceremony on April 4, 1871, and began producing coins using Western-style equipment, which was revolutionary at the time, and introduced modern industry to Japan in the early Meiji period. I fulfilled my role.
