Let’s go back in time to 2,000 years ago, during the Yayoi period. Hands-on experience making pottery and Magatama jewels.

The Ikegami-Sone historical landmark site is one of the most prominent sites of the Yayoi period in Japan. This was one of the most thriving settlement that was surrounded by a moat during the mid-Yayoi period 2,000 years ago. Currently, it is maintained as the Ikegami-Sone Historical Landmark Park, and at the Ikegami-Sone Yayoi Cultural Workshop located in the northern part of this park, visitors are free to see, touch and learn about the Yayoi period through various hands-on experiences such as pottery and Magatama jewelry making. Visitors will be able to use all of their senses to feel even more closer to the life and the people of this period by actually holding real earthenware, making pottery and Magatama jewelry, in addition to wearing the clothes of the period.
