Hankyu Cultural Foundation Ikeda Library
This library was founded by Ichizo Kobayashi, a businessman known for his work on Hankyu Railway and Takarazuka Revue. It houses and displays to the public over 280,000 books and magazines, including valuable materials related to literature and theater, from Takarazuka to Kabuki and film.
The museum opened in 1949, but its history dates back to the library that opened in 1915 in Takarazuka Shin Onsen. Taking over the materials from the Takarazuka Literary Library, the museum's comprehensive collection of opera posters and programs is a must-see for fans. There are also many kabuki-related materials, and the museum's collection of over 8,000 Kamigata actor paintings is said to be one of the largest in the world. The museum also holds posters and newsletters that tell the history of the Hankyu Railway, making it a corporate library.
