Chihaya Star and Nature Museum
Chihayaakasaka Village is located in the southeastern part of Osaka Prefecture and is the only village in the prefecture. At the top of Mt. Kongo, which can be reached by the village ropeway to an altitude of approximately 1,000 meters, lies the vast ``Fumin no Mori Chihaya Park'', and the Chihaya Star and Nature Museum is built as its central interaction facility. The museum has an eco-loop, wind power generation system, and other eco-friendly designs, and is filled with photographs, videos, audio, and document displays about Mt. Kongo's plants, wild birds, and animals. There is also a study space where you can use computers and books. A 400mm astronomical telescope is installed on the star observation deck with a sliding roof, and stargazing sessions are held once or twice a month except in winter. In addition, various nature experience programs are also available. The park also has a campground, bungalows, and a village-run accommodation called Kokusu-so.
