"Okoshi", millet kernels hardened in candy, is a specialty of Osaka that is said to have originated as a confectionery presented to Sugawara no Michizane, who stopped by Naniwa in the early Heian period. Baisendo is a long-established store that dates back to the early Edo period, and is known for its rich, natural flavors made from traditional ingredients and manufacturing methods. Standard millet okoshi and rock okoshi with sesame and ginger are 600 yen (tax excluded) for 10 pieces each.
