45 minutes from Osaka, lots of valuable manga! Japan's largest manga museum
The Kyoto International Manga Museum has over 300,000 manga materials stored, ranging from Edo period caricatures, ukiyo-e prints, magazines from the Meiji, Taisho and early Showa periods, postwar rental books, current popular works, and even overseas works. Of these, 50,000 manga volumes are available for unlimited reading! The remaining 250,000 valuable materials can also be viewed for research and investigation purposes. In addition to the vast manga collection, the museum also hosts exhibitions and events such as original artwork displays, creator talk shows, manga production demonstrations, and cosplay events. It is located about 45 minutes from Osaka, and is a must-visit place for manga fans.
