Osaka's hidden spots
Osaka has many hidden spots that only locals know about. You can see many works by the world-famous architect Tadao Ando here in Osaka. Ando was born in Osaka and is still based there. You can see the Church of the Light in Ibaraki City, the glass block house, and his recent works such as the green wall covering the Marubiru Building and the greening project for the Sky Building. Kishiwada Castle may be a minor castle in Japan, but the Hachijin Garden next to the castle is an innovative dry landscape garden designed by landscape architect Mirei Shigemori in 1953. It is a special spot to experience the deep side of Osaka.
How about traveling back in time to ancient Osaka and seeing the city from a different perspective? At the Osaka Municipal Housing Museum , you can learn about the homes and lifestyles of Osaka, which was once called "Naniwa," from the Edo period to the Showa period.
Don't forget to experience the flavors of Osaka that locals love. If you're feeling a bit hungry, we recommend Patisserie GOKAN , whose main building is in Kitahama. Rest your tired feet in the British-style tea salon on the second floor and enjoy delicious sweets and tea.
If you're tired after a long day of walking and sightseeing, you can refresh yourself at Spa World . It's a huge hot spring facility with a wide variety of baths and bathtubs. Time flies when you try out the different baths.

KISHIWADA CASTLE
During the Edo period, Kishiwada Castle played a role in defending the south side of Osaka Castle. The current castle tower was rebuilt in 1954, and you can enjoy document exhibits and a watchtower. The "Hachijin Garden" that spreads out in front of the castle tower is also a must-see.
