A shite-kata Noh actor of the Kanze school.
Born in Osaka in 1942.
The eldest son of Hideo Otsuki. He studied under his grandfather Juzo, his father Hideo, Kanze Toshio, and Kanze Tetsunojo VIII.
Since her debut in "Kurama Tengu" in 1947, she has been actively involved in performing the three elderly women as well as in revival and new Noh plays.
He has received numerous awards, including the Medal with Purple Ribbon, the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette, and the Japan Studies Prize.
Vice President of the Osaka Nohgaku Training Association, Chairman of the Osaka Cultural and Performing Arts National Health Insurance Association, and Chairman of the Otsuki Nohgaku Theatre Public Interest Foundation.
2016: Individually recognized as holders of important intangible cultural properties (Living National Treasures)
2016 Japan Art Academy Award
Selected as a Person of Cultural Merit in 2018.
