Visit ancient heritage

Emperor Ojin Mausoleum

The Furuichi area is an area with many historical spots where Takeuchi Kaido and Higashi Koya Kaido intersect. You can fully enjoy ancient tombs and history, such as the Emperor Ojin Mausoleum, which boasts the second largest burial mound in Japan, a temple associated with Sugawara no Michizane, and the national treasure saddle metal fittings excavated from the Honda Maruyama tomb. Spring is recommended when cherry blossoms and plum blossoms are beautiful.

    Domyoji Temple

    It is a nunnery built by the Haji clan, ancestors of Sugawara no Michizane, and it is said that Michizane also visited. It is also famous as the birthplace of ``Domyoji starch'' and ``Domyoji flour,'' ingredients for Kansai-style sakuramochi and other products. The standing statue of Eleven-faced Kannon Bodhisattva, a national treasure, is opened to the public on the 18th and 25th of every month.

  3. Emperor Ojin Mausoleum

    It is said to be the second largest burial mound in Japan after the Emperor Nintoku Mausoleum, and is said to be the largest in Japan. As you follow the path, you can get a glimpse of its size and beauty.

  4. Konda Hachimangu Shrine

    The main deity enshrined here is Emperor Ojin, and it is a historical spot with connections to the Genji clan. National treasure saddle fittings and other items are on display in the treasure museum.

  5. Habikino City Cultural Properties Exhibition Room

    Exhibits include house-shaped clay and cap-shaped clay excavated from the Furuichi area, as well as gorgeous grave goods from the Minegatsuka Tumulus. You can feel the romance of ancient times up close.

    This park is themed around the lifestyle of people in the Paleolithic era and how stone tools were made, and its landmark is a large circular egg-shaped monument.

You will learn about the history of manufacturing in the Kita-Nakagouchi area , and at lunch you will experience harvesting and enjoy farm cooking made from organic vegetables. At Ishikiri Tsurugiya Shrine, where many people come to pray for protection against cancer, strolling along the approach to the shrine is a fun way to go.
