Yakiniku and hormones
Yakiniku is starting to be recognized by foreign tourists as a new standard gourmet dish in Osaka. Yakiniku is also the best in Osaka.
Speaking of meat, in Osaka it's beef. Beef meat and internal organs called offal are grilled over an open flame and eaten with sauce. This style was created in the Showa era. In the 1940s, Shodoen was founded in Sennichimae, Osaka. Along with Tokyo's Meigetsukan, it is known as the originator of Yakiniku.
Its roots are in Korea, where the meat was grilled by the restaurant itself. The style of ``tsuke-dare'', in which customers eat various parts of meat while grilling them and dipping them in sauce, was created in Japan. Furthermore, with the advent of smokeless roasters, yakiniku has become a feast that can be enjoyed by families. Osaka is said to have the largest number of yakiniku restaurants in Japan, and there are many yakiniku restaurants all over the prefecture. Minami and Kita also have a variety of restaurants, from high-end restaurants to popular all-you-can-eat restaurants.
Furthermore, Tsuruhashi is a yakiniku heaven where you can be enveloped in the smell of yakiniku as soon as you step off the station. Tsuruhashi, Kansai's premier Korean town, is home to many yakiniku restaurants as well as shops selling kimchi and Korean ingredients. In addition, there are chiritori nabe and motu nabe that specialize in hormones. It is called a dustpan because the square, shallow pot resembles a dustpan. Motsu nabe uses soups such as chicken stock or bonito soup. The ingredients are very similar, including beef offal such as tongue, tekchan, and mino, and plenty of vegetables such as onions, bean sprouts, and chives. It's an inexpensive, nutritious dish that Osaka is proud of.
