Tokimeki Beach (Tannowa Beach), located an hour by train from Osaka Namba and near the southernmost tip of Osaka, is a beach with wide white sand and clear water. It is one of the coasts of town that appeared in Ki no Tsurayuki's "Tosa Nikki" and "Manyoshu" in ancient times, and has been loved as a scenic spot famous for its white sand and green pines along with the nearby Nagamatsu Beach and Sennan Satoumi. Currently, it is one of Osaka's leading resort beaches, crowded with people for clam digging from late March to early June and for swimming from July 1st to late August. There are several beach volleyball courts, including those for competitions, on the sandy beach, so you can enjoy authentic beach volleyball. During the summer swimming season, a shuttle bus is also operated from "Tannowa Station."
