Taishi Onsen

Relax and heal the fatigue of your travels at a quiet natural hot spring nestled in the mountains of Mt.

Taishi Onsen is a natural hot spring located in Taishi Town, which has a connection to Prince Shotoku. It is a popular hot spring where people stop by to relax after hiking or touring the many historical sites in the area, such as Eifuku-ji Temple, known as the temple where Prince Shotoku built his own grave, Prince Shotoku's mausoleum where his mother and others are buried, and the tomb of Prince Shotoku's father, Emperor Yomei. There is an open-air cypress bath overlooking the lush mountains, as well as a large rock bath. The spring water is simple spring water, which is said to be effective for rheumatism, neurosis, and fatigue recovery. Inside the building, there are relaxing guest rooms built in the Sukiya style, and guests can stay overnight, as well as enjoy meals such as seasonal kaiseki cuisine.
