Osaka Prefectural Chikatsu Asuka Fudoki Hill

A historic park that maintains and preserves the Ichisuka tumulus group. There are 102 round tombs built around the latter half of the 6th century, of which you can tour the stone chambers of 40 of them.
Asuka in Nara is called "Totsu Asuka," while the area around the foot of Mt. Nijo on the west side in Taishi Town, Habikino City, Osaka, is called "Chikatsu Asuka." The ancient Chikatsu Asuka area was a region where high culture brought by immigrants flourished, and the surrounding area is filled with clusters of tombs dating back to the 6th century. One of these, the Ichisuka Tomb Group, is maintained and preserved as a historic park at the Osaka Prefectural Chikatsu Asuka Fudoki-no-Oka. Within the park's 29 hectares, there are 102 circular tombs (some square) with a diameter of about 15 meters, 40 of which have horizontal stone chambers, and it is possible to enter and view the interiors of the chambers. The numerous items excavated from these tombs are exhibited and introduced at the nearby Chikatsu Asuka Museum. From the museum, you can get a panoramic view of the entire Chikatsu Asuka Fudoki-no-Oka.
