Okuyama Ameyama Nature Park

The park is full of natural trees such as red pine and cypress, making it perfect for forest bathing. The spring cherry blossoms are also beautiful and are one of the ``100 Best Greens in Osaka.''

Take the Nankai bus from Kumatori Station in the southern part of Osaka Prefecture, get off at the "Osaka Taiiku Daigaku-mae" stop, and walk for about 30 minutes. This vast park spreads upstream of Eiraku Dam, the water source of Kumatori Town, Sennan District. Completed in July 1984, the park covers an area of 130 hectares and is a perfect spot for forest bathing, with natural forests of red pine and cypress thriving in abundance. Around Eiraku Dam is an easy hiking trail of about 2 km, and in spring, about 1,000 Somei-Yoshino cherry trees bloom beautifully. Eiraku Dam and the Sakura Path in Okuyama Ameyama Nature Park are selected as one of the "100 Best Greens in Osaka," and are a place of relaxation for many local residents. The observation deck, which offers a view of the Izumi Katsuragi mountain range and Kansai International Airport on a clear day, is also recommended. It is often used as an outdoor classroom for elementary schools, and the lively voices of children echo through the park.
