mint museum
It exhibits and introduces the manufacturing process of coins and medals, as well as domestic and international coins, medals, and crafts.
The Mint Museum was built in 1911 as a thermal power plant, and is the only Western-style brick building from the Meiji era that remains within the Mint premises. In 1969, the building was renovated to preserve its original appearance and opened as the Mint Museum in order to preserve the building, display valuable coins and other items stored by the authorities to the public, and introduce the minting business. did. Since 2008, with the aim of becoming a ``people-friendly museum, an environmentally friendly museum, and a museum that attracts people,'' we have introduced the latest techniques to exhibitions and equipment, and carried out major renovations to make it more familiar to everyone. It was reopened in April 2009.
