Izumiden Palace
The "main pillar for the standing pillar festival" during the construction work for the Osaka Expo held in 1970
"Izumiden Reisen" was the deciding factor for Osaka Beer (now Asahi Beer)'s expansion in 1889.
Suita Ebisu Shrine, whose main shrine is a float made during the Tenpo era (around 1840)
To the left of the main hall is the Izumidono Reisen, which first emerged in 869 (the 11th year of the Jogan era) and relieved the villagers suffering from a lack of water, and which became the deciding factor in the founding of Asahi Beer Ltd. in 1889 (the 22nd year of the Meiji era).
In 1970, the shrine's chief priest officiated at the ground-breaking ceremony and pillar-raising ceremony for the construction of the site for the Japan World Expo, which was held under the theme of "Progress and Harmony of Mankind." The original pillar (Kiso cedar, 1950) used in the ceremony was dedicated and prayers were offered for the success of the event. It is enshrined on the right side of the main hall so that the "spirit of scientific progress and respect for humanity" that the Japan World Expo advocated will be passed down for many years to come.
