The sixth bridge built over the Edo Horikawa River in 1920. The name of the bridge comes from the nearby famous water ``Konohanoi,'' which Emperor Meiji used for irrigation during his visit to Osaka in 1868. Hananoibashi Bridge disappeared in 1955 when the Edobori River was reclaimed. Currently, a monument is erected on the grounds of Hananoi Junior High School, alongside the well from which the bridge's name is derived.
