Kizu market

Kizu Market boasts a history of over 300 years. It is said that its roots lie in outdoor sales where local farmers would gather and buy and sell goods. It is located near Daikokucho Station, one stop south of Namba. There are about 150 wholesalers of seafood and fruit and vegetables, and many chefs from restaurants in the downtown Minami area come here to buy supplies. For the general public, a morning market is held on the second and last Saturdays of each month from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. There are plenty of tastings, and auction experiences and lotteries are also held. In summer, you can have a barbecue with the ingredients purchased at the market at the venue right next to it. During the Ebisu Festival, also known as "Ebessan," which is one of Osaka's most famous festivals, Kizu Market offers sea bream to Imamiya Ebisu Shrine in accordance with ancient customs, in prayer for a good catch and prosperity in business. This is a traditional event that has continued since the Edo period. ●Inquiries: Osaka Kizu Wholesale Market Market Association Tel: 06-6631-1131
