Tenjinbashisuji Merchants Association (1-3 chome)

Enjoy a stroll through the old downtown area
If you visit Osaka Tenmangu Shrine, be sure to also visit Tenjinbashisuji Shopping Street, the longest shopping street in Japan. This shopping street, which developed as a temple town for Osaka Tenmangu Shrine since the Edo period, still exudes the atmosphere of a good old Japanese downtown area. It stretches for about 2.6 km and has about 600 stores, selling everything you need for daily life, including fruits and vegetables, kimono, knives, used books, and stamps. Enjoy tasting the shopping street's specialties such as manju and croquettes, shopping while enjoying conversation with humorous Osaka merchants, and strolling around at your leisure. You can also find stylish souvenirs at select shops that have collected Osaka's specialties, such as "Tenma Kiriko" and "Mangetsu Pon."
