Chausuyama (Tennoji Park)
It was the stage of the Osaka Winter Siege and Summer Siege battles between the Toyotomi family and the Tokugawa family. It is 26 meters above sea level and is considered one of the five low mountains in Osaka.
Chausuyama, which rises to the southwest of Shitennoji, is known as the site of the Battle of Chausuyama (Tennojiguchi), and was the headquarters of Tokugawa Ieyasu in the Winter Siege of Osaka, and Sanada Yukimura on the Toyotomi side in the Summer Siege. At the top of the mountain, historical documents, maps, and stone monuments that mimic the Siege of Osaka are installed. The surrounding area is Tennoji Park, and at the foot of the mountain is Kawazokoike Pond, which is said to be the site of a pond excavated by Wake no Kiyomaro in 788 (Enryaku 7) to drain the Yamato River and Kawachi Lake and transport water, and you can cross the pond on Wakebashi Bridge, which connects the park to Chasakuyama.
